Jesus commanded us to go and make disciples of all nations. (Matt. 28:19-20, Mark 16:15) Not everyone is called to mission work. But those who are called upon to spread the gospel as missionaries need our loving support, encouragement, and remembrance for the sacrifices and, in many cases, danger they face in proclaiming God’s saving grace amongst unbelieving peoples and nations.

Bob completed his Master of Theology degree at Dallas Theological Seminary (DTS) in 1994 and then pastored a church in Mississippi. Returning to DTS for PhD studies in Bible Exposition, he also led the Student Media Center and became the International Student Adviser. Linda always had a passion for teaching God’s Word to children of all cultures. She has ministered to children in Australia, Romania, Honduras, and the USA. She has a Master of Arts in Biblical Studies from Dallas Theological Seminary. After seminary, Linda was a missionary and teacher-trainer with Child Evangelism Fellowship in Dallas. She taught first graders at Scofield Christian School for eight years.The International Graduate School of Leadership in Quezon City, near Manila, has 250 students from Indonesia, India, Nepal, Myanmar, Korea, East Asia, Vietnam, Vanuatu, USA, Sri Lanka, Cambodia, Sierra Leone, Thailand, Pakistan, West Africa, and of course, the Philippines. Bob and Linda Bates will teach and mentor students in ministry. Bob will teach in the Bible Department while Linda teaches Bible courses to the Ladies in their Partners in Ministry (PIM) program, a certificate course for wives of the pastors. Bob will also work with SEND International in counseling pastors.The Philippines is within 6 hours travel of two thirds of the world’s population! A key spiritual need of the region is Bible teachers to train the leaders of the rapidly growing churches. Once Bob and Linda's ongoing support needs have been met, they will move to the Philippines and will use the following address.

Igor and his wife, Julia, have lived for several years in Zhitomir where they work with various churches. Igor founded a Bible school and teaches classes twice a week to pastors and teachers from other churches. He also preaches each Sunday in church and leads the prayer meetings. In addition, he uses his teaching gifts in a local high school as well as in a Bible study in their home. Julia leads two ladies Bible study groups. They also have an outreach to the deaf, the disabled, and the sick. During the summer, they organize youth camps. Igor visited PVBC and gave a presentation of his ministry on October 24, 2007.
